The library of Maharani College located in the campus extends library services to the students, faculty and staff members of the college with the following mission:
Library Mission - To enhance knowledge and instil a thirst for reading which will enable the readers to develop an integrated personality and motivate them to make a valuable contribution to the society in future.
To support the functioning and facilitate the library development there exist a Library Advisory Committee (LAC) which consists of 07 members. The members of the committee meet at least twice a year to discuss and decide various issues pertaining to the library.

Library Services
Circulation/Home lending: Student members of the library will be issued library cards, which will remain in force for the duration of the study year and shall not be transferable. Students are allowed to issue books using this card, and there also exists the process of renewal and reservation of a book.
Photocopy service: All members of the library can demand the photocopy of any library resource. The copy of the resource will made available to the user for their use.
Referral service: The referral service is a service by which the user guided to the information source by library professionals on their demand. College library is always ready to serve the users in their information search.
Reference service: The reference service is a service by which the information provided by library professionals to the user on their demand. College library is always ready to serve the users in their information search. (a) Real Time Reference Service: In this service the information provided by library professionals to the user on their demand with in very short time or real time. So it is called Real Time Reference Service. (b) Long Time Reference Service: In this service the information provided by library professionals to the user on their demand, but it takes some time or a month. So it is called Long Time Reference Service.
Books on Rent Service: After NO DUES, before the final exams the students can take books on rent from the library for their study with this service. They have to return the books after their exams.
Library Rules and Regulations
Library facility is restricted to current students & staff of the college having valid identification issued by the college.
Students must observe complete silence in the library. Discussion/conversation whatsoever is not permitted.
Student should keep their belongings on the Locker Rack kept for the purpose. Library staff is not responsible for any loss.
Smoking, consumption of food and drink (except water), is not permitted in the library.
Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited. Mobiles are to be kept in the silent mode and you are required to leave the library if you need to use it.
Library material should be handled with utmost care. Nobody should write, damage or make any mark on any of the library materials.
On receiving a book, student must examine it for any kind of damage, such damage should be immediately brought to the notice of Library staff. Failure to do so may entail her being held responsible for any damage detected later.
Books lost or damaged must be paid by the student in whose name they have been issued after getting assessment of the value from the Librarian.
The overdue charge for recalled books will be heavier in case of delay in the return.
Library furniture arrangement should not be disturbed.
The Librarian reserves the right to recall any book before the due date if necessary.
Regarding all other matter concerning the library, decision of the Principal will be final.
Library Events
User Awareness / Library Orientation Programme: The library orientation programme is organized by the college for the benefit of new students in the beginning of academic year. They are taken around the library to familiarize them with various resources and services available for them. Students are informed and trained to identify resources, evaluate them and use the resources more effectively and ethically.
Celebration of “Basant Panchami”: Library organised a celebration on Basant Panchami. The celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Nidhi Lekha Sharma, Principal, along with Head of Departments, senior faculty members and library staffs. The programme started with worship of Goddess Saraswati in reading hall. Vasant Panchami is the festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati who is the goddess of knowledge, language, music and all arts. She symbolizes creative energy and power in all its form, including longing and love (kama). All educational institutions arrange special prayers or pujas in the morning to seek the blessing of the Goddess Saraswati.
Books-Exhibition On Celebration of 150th birth of “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi: Library organised Resource Exhibition on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in the year. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Nidhi Lekha Sharma, Principal, along with HoDs, senior faculty members and library staffs. Books by various publishers related to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri was exhibited. A large number of photo collection is also exhibited which is open to faculty, staff members and students. During this, books are selected for reading by the people who visited the exhibition.
